Biogas Overview
Biogas is the production of methane through the digestion of mostly waste materials such as agricultural waste, food scraps or manure. Biogas is a widely used form of alternative energy in Europe and growing elsewhere.
SPR for Biogas
For biogas we have a specially designed version of the SPR called BioSPR. Using cavitation the BioSPR offers the following benefits to biogas producers:
- 20% or more increased yield
- Decreased production time
- Decreased viscosity
- Decreased energy consumption
- Use on many feedstocks
- Commercial operating installs
Technology Installed Worldwide
The ShockWave Power Reactor (SPR) equipment uses the physical phenomenon of cavitation, normally known as destructive force, and controls it rendering it non-damaging to equipment. This SPR uses the pressure fluctuations and extraction ability of cavitation to makes the fats, sugars, proteins and starches more accessible to the bacteria which increases methane gas yield. The SPR has a small footprint and easy to install device that can increase gas production by 20% or more while simultaneously reducing viscosity. It is fully commercial worldwide.
The technology can be installed in several in several configurations with the most common beingusing the SPR on load to the digerster
Typical Install Configurations
Award Winning Technology
We've received Processing Magazine’s 2014 Breakthrough Product of the Year award. The award recognizes technologies that made significant contributions in the process industries within the last year, and are expected to impact the industry for years to come. Our biogas reactor makes the fats, sugars, proteins and starches more accessible to the bacteria which increases methane gas yield and can reduce viscosity.
